Evaluation

Let’s Talk Pediatrics specializes in providing comprehensive speech-language evaluations that focus on specific areas of your child's development, including areas related to motor development, articulation, language, cognition, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being, self-help skills, and much more.

We use a combination of formal and client focused dynamic assessment in order to evaluate your child’s current abilities and determine if therapy would be beneficial for them. We then identify areas where your child could benefit from communication support in order to succeed in daily living, and develop a specialized treatment plan based on their unique needs, interests, and strengths in order to best help them reach their communication goals.

At Let’s Talk Pediatrics we believe in the importance of identifying and then building on each child's unique strengths, rather than focusing only on “deficits.”

Treatment

Let’s Talk Pediatrics uses a combination of structured and child-led play-based therapy, alongside a sensorimotor, strengths-based approach to help children achieve functional goals, improve quality of life, and become successful communicators. We strive to provide a customized, enriching experience full of learning opportunities that build self-esteem and encourage healthy social and emotional development.

Family involvement is an invaluable tool in ensuring a child’s success. You know your child best, and spend far more time communicating with them than a therapist ever could. You can be your child’s best teacher. We will help educate and guide you in supporting your child’s communication and progress outside of the therapy room.

We Also Offer…

Parenting Support/Education - Parenting a child with communication difficulties can be especially difficult. We provide parent support and education during sessions for things like developing routines, setting up supports, helping their child through difficult emotions, understanding their child’s behaviors, and other areas they may be struggling as a result of their child’s communication difficulties. You don’t have to continue to struggle; we can help! Contact us today for an appointment!

Early Intervention Services - Early intervention is critical when any kind of communication challenges emerge. Supporting children between the ages 0-3 years is critical, and can significantly improve their quality of life in a variety of ways. At Let’s Talk Pediatrics, our experienced speech-language pathologist focuses on helping toddlers express their wants and needs more effectively in order to decrease excessive frustration and meltdowns, and build parent-child connection. Public health services are more strained than ever before with growing wait lists that are negatively impacting families. Private speech therapy can be the answer for many families who don’t want to wait any longer to address their young child's communication challenges.

Screenings - Let’s Talk Pediatrics offers free screenings, available to children at daycare centers, preschools, private and charter schools, after-school programs, and in our office. These are essentially abbreviated evaluations that help to identify children who may benefit from further evaluation. Screenings can be valuable tools to identify struggling children who may otherwise fall through the cracks. If an area of concern is identified based on screening results, a full, in-depth evaluation will be recommended. Contact Let’s Talk Pediatrics if you think you or someone you know may benefit from a free speech-language screening.

Telepractice - (aka telehealth) has become more common and accessible following the pandemic, when many services moved online. Many of us are now using online platforms to connect with friends, family, and health care providers. With so many digital resources and games available, speech and language therapy can be fun and engaging delivered through an online platform. At Let’s Talk Pediatrics we’re trained and experienced in providing therapy via teletherapy. Contact us to see if online speech-language services are right for you.
